Four Looks with Theresa Goddard
Notes from an editorial session at NjoyStudio, Mexico City. Four looks built on leather, latex, leopard and metal – one model, one afternoon, and a deliberate swing from cold studio light to warm amber.

The concept
This series started where the strongest ones usually do – with the wardrobe, not a brief. Four looks, each with its own attitude: graphic black leather and chrome, a harness of chains, animal print under warm light, and red latex with a varsity edge. The idea was not to tell a story. It was to find four distinct ways of holding the camera’s eye, and to let the styling do the talking.
When the looks are this strong, restraint becomes the job. You light them cleanly, you give the model room, and you stay out of the way.

The light
Two moods, one afternoon. For the black-and-chrome and the harness looks we worked against a neutral grey backdrop with hard, directional light – the kind that carves the collarbones and lets the metal catch. For the leopard set we switched to a single warm, gelled source; that amber is in the room, not added in post.
Shot on a Nikon Z9 with the 85mm – long enough to flatter, close enough to keep the eye contact honest.

The model
Theresa carries a look without over-acting it. She holds the line of sight, lets the chin do the work, and resets between frames before you ask. That economy is what makes a four-look day possible – you spend your attention on light and composition instead of coaxing a pose.
The command in these frames is hers. The camera just kept up.

The four looks
Look one: a sculpted leather band and elbow-length crystal-mesh gloves – all silver and skin against grey, the most graphic of the set. Look two: a strapped harness top and a stacked chain choker, hardware worn as wardrobe. Look three: animal print and gold under that warm light, the most classically editorial of the four. Look four: a red latex corset and a black-and-red varsity jacket falling off the shoulders – fashion drama with a wink.

Mexico City
Same studio, same city. None of this needed a plane ticket – the model, the looks, the space and the light were all here, in CDMX. The work is here for anyone paying attention to the local circuit.
