On the banks of the Nairn Falls river in British Columbia, an inukshuk — a tower of stones stacked in delicate balance — rises above the rounded riverbed stones. An ancient tradition of the northern peoples, these figures serve as a guide and a sign that someone passed here. Selective focus isolates the natural sculpture against the glacial waters behind — an image about patience, presence and harmony.
